So superior to dunking a biscuit in your hot chocolate!
These are so simple to make they don’t really warrant a recipe. It’s simply a case of melting and flavouring chocolate. This means that they make a very quick and simple Christmas gift.
Here are a few ideas to get you going;
Aztec – dark chocolate with chili and cinnamon
Candy cane – dark chocolate with peppermint essence and crushed candy canes
Eggnog – white chocolate with vanilla, rum and nutmeg
Jamaican ginger – dark chocolate with rum and crystalised ginger
Salted caramel – milk chocolate with seasalt flakes and crushed caramel sweets
Melt your chocolate and stir in the flavourings. Pour into sturdy paper cases or silicone molds. Carefully sprinkle on the toppings. Allow to firm up very slightly and insert the stick. Leave to cool and set completely before removing the molds.
Ideally the flavourings and decorations need to be something that will dissolve into the hot liquid so that the drinker won’t find a sludgy mess at the bottom of their cup when they finish. You also need to go a bit easy on the alcohol because too much will stop the chocolate from setting.
